Findhorn Place

The Brief for this semi-detached Victorian house in the Grange area of Edinburgh was to open up the house to the garden and to create additional living space to the rear. Our clients were two advocates and their two young children.

The Design: The new room links the sitting room, kitchen and utility spaces. The new roof, separated from the house by a glazed box, is supported on the existing kitchen annexe, a new masonry wall and a single steel column to allow an uninterupted opening to the garden. Sliding  folding doors allow the relationship between house and garden to be maintained even in the worst of weathers
