Cumin Place

The Brief: The owners of this Victorian detached house asked our practice to design additional utility space, a showeroom and an informal family living space at the rear.

The Design: A single large, light-filled room was created, with utility spaces, concealed behind a limestone clad hearth wall.

The existing outshoot was knocked down and the stone reused on the side walls. In order to preserve daylight into the existing house, the new room is separated from the main house by a full length strip of glazing.
